A: Home City Inc. is a wholesaler and retailer company specializing in textiles and superior home goods. Home City Inc.’s signature brand, Superior® offers wholesalers and customers an extensive line of products including area rugs, bedding, bath linens, comforters, pillows and other home essentials. Superior® is not only the leader in the textile industry, but we are also leading the way as an affordable luxury home goods brand by being true to its name. The grandeur logo of the lion signifies our evolution as we increase distribution across major online marketplaces. Our products are currently offered on major online marketplaces like Amazon, Overstock, Wayfair, Walmart, Groupon, Rue La La, Hayneedle, and many others. We are headquartered in Edison, New Jersey, and we have warehouses both in New Jersey and Ohio, and we plan to open more warehouses across the U.S. within the next few years. We also operate from offices in Egypt, India, and China. Our company is an EDI-compliant organization equipped to support a high volume of orders.
Q: What is the story behind Home City? How did you start?
A: Home City Inc. started with my mother, Ferial. Sewing has always been a hobby for her, and this eventually turned into a humble tailoring operation. This, is in turn, motivated her to make our small company into an international business, bringing the best in luxury fabrics and textiles to both customers and retailers alike. For over two decades, we always remember my mother’s humble beginnings and pride ourselves on tradition and dedication by establishing the most trusted brands associated with textiles.
Q: Why did you create the Superior® brand? What makes it so special?
A: Superior® ushers in a new era at Home City Inc., one that reflects the superior quality and value we stand behind as a company. We offer our customers long-lasting products through our unique use of materials, as well as new designs on their favorite merchandise like our affordable 300 Thread Count Sheet Sets to our luxurious and best-selling 900 GSM Bath Towel Sets. Our company also works with some of the best manufacturing partners to help us deliver exceptional products to our wholesalers and customers. While every President of a company says this, it’s true when we say we are one of the hardest working teams! With such a dedicated company, Superior® is quickly accelerating as a purveyor of a multi-faceted home goods brand.
Q: What kinds of products do you offer to your customers?
A: With more than 15,000 products and growing, our brand appeals to a vast customer base. We offer our wholesalers and customers an extensive line of bedding, area rugs, bath towels, curtains, robes, beach towels, comforters, pillows, and coming this fall, home accent furniture — which is a new and exciting addition for us. It’s also easy for customers to shop our extensive line of products through some of the biggest marketplaces like Amazon and Overstock with our dedicated Superior® product pages. We also have an influential presence on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube, which helps to educate our customers on the kinds of products we offer.
Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: When it comes to our future, we firmly believe the possibilities are endless! The most prominent plan for our company is we want to continue our growth and success as the top affordable luxury home goods brand. We also want to increase our product offerings as well as feature our products on more marketplaces, whether it be online or in brick and mortar stores. Currently, we are in over twenty-five online marketplaces, and we strive to be on every platform across all e-commerce marketplaces. We are also working hard to enhance automated operations online for our drop shippers and small wholesalers. While we currently have two warehouses in New Jersey and Ohio, we want to have at least ten warehouses within the next five years, as well as expand our office space across the U.S. and other countries. Of course, none of this can happen if we don’t have the appropriate workforce. We are looking to grow our team exponentially to help achieve these goals, and while we currently have approximately one hundred employees, we want to increase this number to at least five hundred in the next two years. Eventually, we hope to go public in the very near future.
